Our Zwarthout collection consists of wooden planks that have been fire-treated, inspired by a traditional Japanese technique: Shou Sugi Ban.
The result is a high-end range of cladding options made from blackened, charred wood.
You can choose between Zwarthout with various protective finishes or matte, charred boards.
Charred Accoya
Accoya is an exceptionally dimensionally stable and weather-resistant modified wood, originating from the New Zealand Pinus Radiata. Once this wood is charred using centuries-old Japanese techniques, a beautiful and low-maintenance charcoal layer is created, perfect for interior and exterior use.
Optionally, the charcoal layer can be fixed.
