Afrormosia is typified by its golden brown colour which, after a certain time, gets a dark shade due to the light. This wood species grows mainly in Central and West Africa. Afrormosia is a very stable type of wood that hardly distorts after it has been placed. Afrormosia also scores excellent points on sustainability.
The wood type belongs to durability class 1-2. After 25 years, the wood is still in perfect condition. A big advantage with Afrormosia is that the terrace boards can be placed in such a way, that the screws cannot be seen. This is done by using terrace plates that are fixed at the bottom. The workability of this type of wood is good, both with machines and by hand. Also, the surface finish is good with a solvent varnish.
