Blackwood Nakatado

Nakatado is burned by our firemen and then brushed and treated with Bito Black. The lively grain structure becomes visible and has a height difference of about 1-2mm between the high and low parts. Nakatado is well resistant to all weather influences and does not give off. The flat flame pattern gives a calm and contemporary image in the room. Thanks to its thermally modified wood, Nakatado is a versatile alternative for applications that require a very durable wood species.

Nakatado is treated with our Bito Black after burning and brushing. Bito Black gives good protection against water, dirt, mould and other deposits. We recommend re-applying this treatment every 3 to 5 years. In addition, we also offer possibilities for a silk gloss and/or scratch-resistant coating for interior applications. Feel free to ask us about the possibilities.

The wood for Nakatado is Pinus Radiata, a fast-growing pine species from forests in New Zealand. The wood is thermally modified, which means that the wood is heated to 230 degrees during the modification process without the use of chemicals. This gives this wood the durability class 1 (EN350). The wood has a service life of at least 30 years. Nakatado has a standard fire resistance class D-s2, d2, in accordance with European standard - EN13502.
