Woodstoxx appoints Matthijs Keersebilck as CEO
Woodstoxx proudly announces the appointment of Matthijs Keersebilck as CEO. This significant move marks a new chapter in the company's seventeen-year history and underscores its ongoing commitment to innovation and leadership.
Over the past year, the group of companies revolving around Woodstoxx has undergone a strategic restructuring. As part of this evolution, the four companies, Woodstoxx, Belgiqa, Unicus, and The Hub, have been grouped under a new overarching entity: the Highway Group. Matthijs Keersebilck succeeds the former CEO of Woodstoxx, Robbert Desmet, who will fully focus on the Highway Group and Unicus from April 8th onwards.
Matthijs Keersebilck is no stranger to the construction sector. Prior to his appointment at Woodstoxx, he served as the Commercial Director at the property developer Matexi for six years. Before that, he built his career in the football industry, working with both Anderlecht and Club Brugge. Matthijs also currently sits on the board of directors of the National Lottery and Hallelujah.
Woodstoxx specializes in high-end wooden flooring and cladding for both interior and exterior applications. It caters to both residential and development markets and is renowned for its dedication to craftsmanship, sustainability, and aesthetics. Founded seventeen years ago in Menen, Woodstoxx now also has branches in Ghent and Antwerp.
In early 2025, the company will continue its expansion in Belgium by opening a new branch in Brussels, in collaboration with Camille Verstraete, CEO of The Hub. Simultaneously, under the leadership of Grégory Minne, Belgiqa is making significant strides in exporting to foreign markets.
"This new phase represents a fantastic challenge for Woodstoxx and the Highway Group as a whole," says Robbert. "With the opening of Woodstoxx Brussels, we are poised to further strengthen our position in the market."
With these developments, Woodstoxx is well-positioned to confront current market challenges and seize new opportunities in the rapidly evolving timber and construction sector.
